Safeguarding and Interventions Officer

Location:  John Ruskin College (Croydon)
Salary:      £19,444 – £20,260 (Subject to qualifications, skills and experience)
Hours:      Full time (37 hours/week)
Contract Type:  Permanent

We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Safeguarding and Interventions Officer to join our Student Services team.

You will be joining the Student Services team at an exciting time and as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer, you will provide crucial support to the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the College to achieve its key strategic priorities.

The successful candidates key responsibilities will be:

To act as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer
To provide effective liaison between the college, learners and parents and other external agencies.
To provide information and advice on financial assistance
To be committed to the safeguarding of students and staff in College.
To promote safeguarding to students and staff in College.
To deliver high quality staff and student safeguarding related training.
To provide, collate and monitor regular, accurate and timely data on safeguarding and child protection incidents and outcomes.

You will be committed to the safeguarding of students and staff in College and deliver related training and updates as appropriate. You will have good administrative experience and skills, as well as being a strong communicator with excellent IT and analytical skills. You will also need to have the ability to work pro-actively to ensure that reporting on Safeguarding matters is highly accurate, whilst also ensuring that referrals are made to external organisations where necessary. You will also have responsibility to provide information and advice on financial assistance to students and be passionate about working with them.
