Higher Level Teaching Assistant Supporting Children with English as an Additional Language (EAL)

The Crescent Primary School has a vacancy for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work with children who have English as an Additional Language (EAL) to start as soon as possible.

This post is 5 days a week, term time only from 9.00am – 3.00pm for 27.5 hours with half an hour unpaid lunch break

Salary: Based on Grade 5 Scale Points 23-25 – Salary Range: £23,577 to £24,999 per annum

Actual Pro-Rata Salary Range: £15,958.00 to £16,921.00 per annum

The Crescent Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and flexible Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work with Children with EAL to help them achieve their full potential. Reporting to our Assistant Head Teacher for Inclusion, the successful candidate should have a strong commitment to inclusive education for children with EAL, and be capable of working both independently and as part of a team in our friendly, dynamic and successful school.

The post is ideally suited to candidates with an HLTA qualification, but this is not essential. Experience of working with young children with EAL is desirable. Enthusiasm, patience and understanding of working with children who have additional needs would be an advantage as would a willingness to be part of a friendly and professional team who are adaptable and supportive of each other.
